Black Man's Bitch

Black Man's Bitch

Dara is a cocky blonde tomboy working as a deputy sheriff for her Uncle, the Sheriff of Kainlen County. In rural Mississippi, that meant speed traps, boredom, and her uniform sticking to her skin as she tries to avoid the worst of the sweltering summer heat. And then she meets Emery, a mountain of black flesh, his body rippling with muscles, glistening in the hot sun, his face sullen with anger and resentment. In an instant, she becomes obsessed, her body aflame, her mind overpowered by her own uncontrolled lust. What a wicked, wicked thing it would be to have sex with a Black man! And not just any Black man, for Emery was just out of prison, full of rage and violence. As her obsession batters down her pride, Dara is used, brutalized, and humiliated again and again, given to other Black men, and made the focus of all their revenge, anger and lust. Yet like an addict, she revels in her own abuse, her mind and body wild with the heat it brings her. And if she can't figure out how to control her addiction she might wind up in prison, or dead.

Web 4.0 { Fashion Forecasting }

Web 4.0 { Fashion Forecasting }

I'm having lunch with a "higher-up" from a major fashion house last week and he asks me if I've noticed any new trends "on the street"....you know, i'm an artist and such, so I'm supposed to know a thing or two about Gotham culture. Stumped, I glance out the window for some real-time street inspiration and I see the Spider-Man 3 poster wheat pasted all over a construction site.

My answer: "Spider-Man changed his look. He's wearing a black suit now. I think it has something to do with hip-hop."

So from that point on we engaged in conversation about various superheroes and their influence on popular culture and fashion. Although I'm certain the cape-thing probably won't catch on, somehow I convinced him that the "Black Spider-Man" could leave a sublime cultural impression amongst the hipster population, esp in New York (where all superhero trends tend to originate).

As a result of our conversation, I was called up the next day and was asked to provide "a conceptual gimpse into the future of fashion as it pertains to Spider-Man." This project paid for private Spider-Man 3 showing with my friends (in which it was mandatory to wear black). The image above is the artwork I produced and delivered for the project. I'm told the factory in China has already prototyped some orange, cobweb-like stockings that you are going to look very sexy in.

anti-fashion "anti-hero"

anti-fashion

The image stands for lack of acceptance, respect, authority, popularity, and success. All these issues describing what it means to be not fashionable, trendy, up to date with gizmos/gadgets, instead becoming anti-hero or out-cast.

The photograph itself extracts opposite values of being fashionable, the capture of a model reminds the runway footage. The model wears only trousers to enhance the simplicity, poverty, variability. The model’s prop is clearly damaged which stands for lack of up to date gadgets/gizmos. The image is free of vibrant tones; the gray tones are better contributing to the metaphorical message.

However, being not fashionable can stands for personal strength (not follow as everyone by current trends), knew the value of oneself, have own style, be independent and have high resistance for judgemental surrounding
